Time to Swish

We’re building up to our second swish (Thursday 18th October 6.30 -9 pm). I’d forgotten how much work was involved!! Rails are sorted, clothes and accessories are arriving and currently our exhibition space has been transformed in to mayhem…but by Thursday will be a swishing emporium!

Our last swish was a great success, we had a good amount of people come along and everyone one seemed to have fun and get in to the spirit of swishing

At The Making House we believe in encouraging people to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible with the workshops we run and craft items we sell, so the spirit of swishing fits in perfectly with this. Alongside this we like to support a local charity so this year we’ll be raising money for Burton and District YMCA. We’ll be running a raffle and any profit from the evening, as well as any left over clothes will all go to the YMCA.

A few details:

£5, Your entry fee, includes the swish, a free glass of wine and light snacks and pampering sessions.

An opportunity for you to swap your quality clothes and accessories for someone else’s to create a new and different look. Expert advice will be on hand to suggest ways you could adapt pieces. Throughout the evening there will be pampering sessions for you to enjoy. And as always there’s some great art and craft on display too.

How it works

Bring up to 5 items of clothing/accessories that you want to swap and we will give you swishing tokens according to quality/type for you to use on the night. Please drop these in before the event, we’ll be open every day (bar Sunday) from Thursday 11th October to Wednesday 17th October for you to drop your clothes and accessories off.

Hope to see you there!
