Our Autumn course dates are now online. For now we’ll be focucing on jewellery making, silversmithing.

I began developing my jewellery and silversmithing skills after setting up Bags2riches in 2001; over the years I’ve learnt lots and began delivering jewellery making courses in 2008. At the moment our focus is on basic skills, but hopefully we’ll be able to get some guest tutors in to do workshops in more technical areas of silversmithing.

Silversmithing workshops

Anna delivers a variety of basic silversmithing courses at The Making House, allowing people to learn the essential skills for making their own jewellery. On the course you will create your own one off pieces, you can of course, then buy your equipment and start making at home or why not join our fortnightly silversmithing club and build your skills gradually with support from Anna and the group.

Due to the intensity of this course, numbers are limited to 6 people, so book early!

The course is designed to allow you to develop your own jewellery designs; Anna will introduce a key skill each week and support you in making your own idea. The price includes basic materials such as copper/brass and findings, but silver isn’t included in the price, however you can buy it at cost price from The Making House throughout the course (most people use between £10 and £25 worth of silver depending on their projects)
